Update: Is Bender coming to TSTO?

Bender did indeed make an appearance in TSTO!
Alas, only in a series of dialogues. None-the-less, I’m still totally stoked about it 🙂

Beder Time

Sorry Barbarian Homer, but I must reluctantly disagree with you.
Bender Bending Rodríguez is definitely the good (make that “the best”) kind of Bender.
Once-upon-a-time (in my boozier years) I might have sided with you.
However, now, I just want Futurama to ‘live on’ in some form or the other ~ and this is a very good start.

Spoiler Alert: Is Bender coming to TSTO?

The Simpsons Futurama Crossover Crisis 1
My friend Chris J made a post on TOuk that has gotten me so excited that I felt compelled to add a post to this blog, which I rarely do these days. That should give some indication as to how fired-up I am about this. Chris was letting us know that ‘The Legendary’ spAnser has posted (on TSTONews) that an icon of Bender has been added to the game files with the ‘Medieval Times’ update.

Oh please let this be a sign that that the upcoming Simpsons/Futurama crossover will include an Episode Tie-In for TSTO.

An Unmistakable Futurama Reference in TSTO!

Back in late October I posted about what could have been (speculatively) perceived as a reference to Futurama in The Simpsons Tapped Out.

Good news everyone! We now have an unmistakable Futurama content sighting in TSTO.

As part of the Holiday 2013 update… in the quest ‘Too Much of a Good Thing’ Part 10 where many Springfielders are tasked to eat out at restaurants; some of them have dialogue pop-ups with various humorous comments about this task.

Comic Book Guy mentions Slurm, a soft drink from Futurama…

BTW: I’ll bet Kang and Kodos would also enjoy a nice helping of Soylent Green 😉

Futurama lives on in TSTO…

FTO Tips

Will there ever be a FuturamaTapped Out? While it may seem far-fetched at this point ~ I say… never say never!

Numerous sources reported that Matt Groening said (at Comic-Con in July 2013) that there will be a Simpsons/Futurama crossover either as The Simpsons’ Season 25 finale or Season 26 premiere. This would seem to hint that there could, at least, be an episode tie-in for The Simpsons Tapped Out (TSTO).

I for one, would cough-up beaucoup donuts for some Futurama content in TSTO. What might that Futurama content be? Well Bender would be as good a guess as any. The lovable but mischievous, insult spouting, robot is probably the most widely known and recognized character, right meat bags?

Until then, we can still enjoy some wonderful Futurama content in TSTO via the efforts of talented TSTO 2D artists. What is that you ask? It is art created in…

The Simpsons Tapped Out (TSTO) is the mobilegame that brought us together. This story takes us on a journey through the TSTO community. It started with the download and continued with that well-known blog, Flickr, our personal blogs and T-Ouk. After ‘the incident’, the community expanded to include TopiXTSTOAddicts, TheAdiposeTV and some other personal TSTO blogs.

TSTO is much more than a game, it’s a lifestyle.

Little did I know (back at the end of February 2013) that the simple act of downloading a game to my phone would soon have a profound impact on my life!

As a fan of The Simpsons, since its beginnings on The Tracey Ullman Show, I took an immediate liking and became a daily player of TSTO. As longtime readers of this blog will note, I’m fairly open about certain (specific) issues I have socially. In light of this fact, it was quite out of character for me when I found a certain mega-hit blog and begin to participate daily ~ commenting and sharing information about this most addictive game.

Before the Whacking Day event, I pretty much tried to ignore the social aspects of the game. Up to this point, I had been playing ‘anonymously’.Then I realized to successfully participate in Whacking Day it was (almost) mandatory to become involved socially. The truth is, I almost decided to quit playing the game altogether. However, I was so fascinated by the TSTO phenomenon, I was able overcome my looming social anxiety. I created an EA ‘Origin’ account and started making TSTO friends (and neighbor-reenos) all over the world.

I became part of a global community… a wonderful community that thrives, not only through the game itself, but also a network of fan-sites, forums and blogs.
(For a list of my favorites, please see my TSTO Links page)

Then, when I thought things couldn’t get any better, I was once again surprised! Actually ‘surprised’ is a monumental understatement. Through my involvement with this game and the community it has fostered… I have met an amazing gal and we have begun a relationship. Her name is Emma (‘Em’) Cha.

To be continued, in an upcoming post… Em and DD

Bye-Bye Mapple Store?

I’ve blogged and commented about The Mapple Store for some time now. I’m a computer geek and I want it for my TSTO Springfield very badly!

However, after last night’s Simpson’s episode “Four Regretting’s and a Funeral” I fear The Mapple Store may be farther away than ever. They didn’t refer to ‘Mapple’ in this episode at all.  They used  ‘Apple’ instead ~ including this little message I spotted near the end of the episode…Bye-Bye Apple (Mapple)

I need to get back to the mindfulness of  ‘living in the moment’, where past TSTO items are concerned, and go buy the remaining limited-time Halloween items lest I miss out again, LOL. The current event is scheduled to end November 7th.

A small rant, sort of…

For long time readers, this may come as a shock because I’m going to try and briefly set aside my usual “if you don’t have something positive to say, don’t say anything at all” point of view.

I’m feeling a little bad already and I haven’t even written anything yet. It’s because I’ve been thrilled with almost every new addition to TSTO. It’s almost like EA have been reading my mind (or something like that).

Yeah, then there’s the fact that lots of Tappers don’t have the donuts to spare and it really was thoughtful for those folks to receive a free premium item.

Plus it’s also sends out a nice message that good things do come to those who are patient. “Patience Grasshopper”, has always been my motto!

So what was I going to rant about, oh yeah – I paid donuts for the Wailing Wall! Now I have two. My town’s design theme is like me and is reflected clearly in this blog’s tag line ‘Nothing Special…’ I only want one of everything ~ not two! Except maybe for items that I use for fun… for instance, over at Tapped-Out UK some of us hide rabbit hedges around our towns for our neighbor-eenos to find in a game called SUBS.

So okay, now I feel completely petty and selfish but that’s not a bad thing IMHO. Because it shows me that I’m grown-up enough be able recognize the nature of these (or almost any other) feelings

Thank you Zen!
